VANABIO® PS3813A is a colorless, low-viscosity liquid. VANABIO® PS3813A is regarded as trifunctional since all three alkoxy groups can hydrolyze.
VANABIO® PS3813A phenylsilane also contains a phenyl group that exhibits excellent thermal stability and brings flexibility to sol-gel coating systems. It is the quivalent of Dow's Z-6124, ShinEtsu's KBM-103 silane.

VANABIO® PS3813A is used to modify the suface of inorganic fillers such as wollastonite and aluminum trihydroxide. It makes the surface of these inorganic fillers more hydrophobic and thus increases their dispersability in mineral-filled silicone polymers. VANABIO® PS3813A is especially suited for polymers that are processed at elevated temperatures. VANABIO® PS3813A reduces the viscosity of the polymer melt.
In many sol-gel applications VANABIO® PS3813A is partially hydrolyzed to form a preproduct that can be further crosslinked using temperature. This pre-hydrolysis is often made in conjunction with alkyl silanes (VANABIO®PS3813B) or other silanes (e.g. VANABIO®ES5310), silicic acid esters, or even an aqueous silica sol.
VANABIO® PS3813A reacts faster with water than VANABIO® PS3813B.
VANABIO® PS3813A phenyltrimethoxysilane is supplied in 200Kg steel drum.
In the unopened original container VANABIO® PS3813A phenyltrimethoxysilane has a shelf life of one year in a dry and cool place.
