VANABIO®OS2542, the ethyl ester of orthosilicic acid, is a colorless, low-viscosity liquid with an SiO2 content of 28.5%. It is also called as Tetraethyl orthosilicate, Ethyl Polysilicate 28#.


VANABIO®OS2542 tetraethoxysilane is the quivalent of Momentive's TEOS, Dow's Z-6697, Wacker's Ethyl SILICATE TES28, Evonik's Dynasil A, ShinEtsu's KBE-04.

  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as an inorganic binder for refractory fillers and pigments, like precision investment castings.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 orthosilicate may be used as a second backup casting coating. It cures faster than colloidal silica system.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be hydrolyzed to form silicon dioxide (silica).


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as a starting material for sol-gel process.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as a crosslinking agent for silicone adhesive.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as a binder in zinc-rich (corrosion resistant) coating.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as a chemical intermediate.


  • VANABIO® OS2542 may be used as a silane drying agent in sealing compositions.


Packing and Storage


  • VANABIO® OS2542 tetraethoxysilane is supplied in 190Kg steel drum or 900Kg IBC container.


  • In the unopened original container VANABIO® OS2542 tetraethoxysilane has a shelf life of one year in a dry and cool place.
