What is crystal silica gel?

Crystal silica gel, also known as transparent silica gel or colorless silicone gel, is a two-component AB adhesive. It has low viscosity, high transparency, resistance to yellowing, and good resistance to deformation. Coarse-pored silica gel and silicone cat litter, which were previously discussed by Bo Hao Electronics, can also fall under the category of crystal silica gel. During the crosslinking process, no low-molecular-weight substances are released, resulting in no volume change and a shrinkage rate of less than 0.1%. It is not limited by product thickness and can cure deeply. It exhibits high tensile and tear strength and retains its elasticity even at high temperatures of 200°C.

Properties of Crystal Silicone Gel:

  1. Crystal silica gel has low viscosity, good leveling properties, and excellent defoaming performance.
  2. The cured material of crystal silica gel has good solvent resistance, impact resistance, and resistance to yellowing.
  3. The cured material of crystal silica gel has excellent transparency, high hardness, smooth and glossy surface, no air bubbles, and strong adhesion.
  4. Crystal silica gel can cure at room temperature or moderate temperature, with a moderate curing speed.

Applications: It is used for encapsulating high-power LED devices due to its high light transmittance, high elasticity, and excellent resistance to UV aging. It is suitable for encapsulating gels and lens filling in high-power LEDs and surface mount LEDs, making it an ideal packaging product for high-power LEDs. It is also used in the production of silicone cat litter, coarse-pored silica gel, crystal silicone gel keyboards, crystal silicone gel cases, and rapid prototyping of gemstone molds. It is used for molding and casting epoxy resins, polyester resins, polystyrene, ethylene-based plastics, paraffin, low-melting-point alloys, concrete, and other materials. It is also used for replicating cultural relics and artistic crafts.

Precautions: This product is not classified as a hazardous substance and can be transported as general chemicals. Please store the product in a cool and dry place, and its shelf life is six months. It is a compound, so avoid exposure to catalysts to prevent their toxicity from affecting the curing effect.
